Dear Friends,
As a member of the Ramona community, I wanted to let you know about the County of San Diego’s various grant programs that benefit you and your neighbors.
The County’s two main grant programs include the Community Enhancement Program (CEP) and the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program (NRP). Here’s a quick breakdown of what these grants are and how they are used:
Community Enhancement Program
The Community Enhancement Program is funded by a set percent of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) revenues. The goal of the Community Enhancement Program is to stimulate tourism, promote the economy, create jobs, and/or a better quality of life. Entities and activities currently funded include cultural activities, museums, visitor and convention bureaus, economic development councils, and more.
Neighborhood Reinvestment Program
The Neighborhood Reinvestment Program provides grant funds to County departments, public agencies, and to non-profit community organizations for one-time community, social, environmental, educational, cultural, or recreational needs.
I value the investment non-profits and community organizations have put into serving Ramona. That’s why, in the previous fiscal year, I matched those efforts with $857,190 in CEP and/or NRP funding.
As examples, this includes, but is not limited to, funding the Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego - Conrad Prebys Ramona Branch, VFW Post No. 3783, and the Ramona Historical Society.
This year, my office is accepting CEP and NRP grant applications from July 1, 2023 to November 1, 2023, with grant awards being made between November 1 and December 31, 2023. A second round of awards will be made in June of 2024.
If you or someone you know is a part of a community organization or nonprofit that might qualify for these grants, please consider applying using the applications on my website:
